GENERAL INFORMATION

MEMBERSHIP

The Guild of Woodworkers, Wellington is open to all persons interested in any aspect of woodwork. That includes professional or amateur or leisure oriented - whatever your style - you are welcome. You will enjoy interacting, learning and exchanging knowledge with some 80 other like minded enthusiasts.

The Annual Subscription is currently $55 a year ($60 if paid later than 30 days after the AGM) or $20 for a Junior Member (under 16 years old). The membership is valid until 31 March of the year following payment.

Any change to the subscription is made by agreement at the AGM, normally held at the May meeting.

THE GUILD HAS:

  • Monthly Meetings on the 1st Tuesday of each month (except January) at 7pm in the Library, Naenae College, 910 High Street, Lower Hutt. The meetings feature informative guest speakers, demonstrations and the opportunity to interact with members on a variety of relevant topics.
  • Specialist Workshops, demonstrations and events covering a variety of woodcraft techniques, often including the opportunity for those attending to actively participate.
  • Exhibitions by Members - providing the opportunity to display (and often also to sell) their wares. Such exhibitions are varied and occur during the year at various venues.
  • A website (www.gww.org.nz) which has general information, notice of Guild events, a comprehensive Picture Gallery of members' work, and links to other Guild and woodwork sites of interest. The site also has contact details for the Guild Secretary.
  • A Variety of Free Resources available to members, such as books, videos, up to date woodwork magazines and the like. Members themselves also are a resource for advice, guidance and information.

FURTHER INFORMATION - may be found on the web site or by emailing the Secretary.
